University of Ottawa Tabaret Hall Projection Mapping
Hfour continues make a splash with projection mapping on architecture, this time at the University of Ottawa, for Alumni Week, in collaboration with Frischkorn MediaCo. Projection Mapping on Tabaret Hall, the university’s iconic facade had not been done before.
Hfour engaged with stakeholders at the University of Ottawa and Frischkorn MediaCo to create a projection mapping show which was a captivating balance between storytelling imagery and architectural perspective illusions. Key themes from the campaign were visually conveyed while light and colour danced across the building.
Making a 3D model of the building was the first thing that needed to be done. Since lidar wasn’t an option, many of the building’s measurements were taken, and a model was created from the data, to pixel accuracy.
The content tells the story of both the history of the university and the core message of the university’s new campaign, Defy the Conventional.
